With this project, I was selected among the top 20 illustrations of the "Latin American Illustration 2021" contest organized by the University of Palermo (UP)
My work was used by the university to advertise the contest the following year (2022).
This project is a reinterpretation of the artwork "Adam and Eve" by Jan Gossaert. My project is titled "Carnal Temptation." In this competition, the goal was to reinterpret various works, and I chose this particular one because it holds great personal significance for me and carries a lot of iconographic, mysticism, and iconological value.
A large part of these illustration works were done between 2020 and 2021, and although they are not all my works, here you can see a stage of my life that is more "colorful and experimental" with a greater use of colors to provide a vibe of that time and influenced by my references: Jordan Grimmer and J Pierce.
The drawing and painting style is characterized by a peculiar and original style, which I have been perfecting during the past few years. I define this style as somber, grotesque, and reflective, as it reflects my morbidity, passions, philosophy of life, and sin.
To reach this point and discover the characteristic style of my works, I had to go through several stages of frustration, reading, and visualizing references that aligned with my thoughts.
My references to achieve this style are Nicola Samori, Francis Bacon, Caravaggio, Arthur Schopenhauer, and Philipp Mainländer.
